Choosing a Tent

Choosing a tent requires some thoughts as to how you want to live when travelling. There's always going to be a trade off between the size of a tent and the amount of space it takes up in your vehicle or luggage and the time spent putting it up. If you're cycling or backpacking then a small tent will be most suitable, giving you the basic comfort but maximum flexibility. On the other hand if you are driving then a bigger tent will give you much more comfort, although at the cost of more effort to put up in the first place.

Check out one of the larger camping stores that have tents already laid out - this will give you a much better idea of the size and shape as well as what will fit inside each tent. The shop assistants will also be able to give you an idea of how easy these tents are to put up and the size and weight they are when packed.
