Salzburg CitySalzburg, famous for Mozart and the Sound of Music, has a small and compact old centre, full of sumptuous Baroque architecture and surrounded by huge hills. There's plenty to see and do here with many museums and concert halls.
Krimmler WaterfallThe Krimmler waterfalls, Europe's largest, are amazing when in full force. Tumbling down a 450 section of mountainside they are visible for miles around.
Hellbrunn Palace and ZooHellbrunn Palace is situated just a few miles south of Salzburg and is easily reached by public transport. The 17th Century trick fountains are fantastic as is the surrounding water gardens and parkland.
Eisriesenwelt - Werfen Ice CavesThe Eisriesenwelt Ice caves at Werfen are the largest accessible ice caves in the world. The delicate ice structures that line the caves are fantastic whilst others are massively thick and imposing.
