Essential touring equipment

Driving abroad requires much essential equipment - some of this is compulsory in some countries - check the [individual country] sections for further details. This list cotains many optional items but should serve as a checklist.

Legally required in some EU states

• Beam benders (or block out triangles for lights)
• Warning Triangle (Legal in most countries)
• Reflective Jackets (Legal in many countries)
• First Aid Kit (Legal in many countries) - (AF)
• Spare bulbs (Legal in many countries)
• Fire Extinguisher (Legal in some countries)
• GB sticker (Legal in all countries - except if have EU numberplate

• Universal sink plug
• Washing line + pegs
• Electric lead (long) + european adaptor for France
• Gas lighter
• Mosquito repellant
• Spare fuses
• Spare gas cylinders
• Ground Mat
• Phone charger - international sim?
• Seats and outside furniture

Recommended vehicle equipment

• Good quality road maps
• 12V Chargers for any batteries
• Foot pump/ compressor
• Sealant
• Velcro and sellotape
• Chocks
• Flat tyre refiller - for emergencies to get to garage
• Spare oil
• Spare fuel can (illegal in some countries)
